This is the mid-tier OLED decision for 2026, and both land in the same roughly 1,300 to 1,500 nit class with four full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 inputs and input lag under 10 ms. The Samsung's quantum-dot panel gives it more saturated color; the LG has Dolby Vision, a faster panel, and a polarizer that keeps blacks black when a lamp is on. The one question that decides it: is the room truly dark, and do you stream a lot of Dolby Vision?

Pick the Samsung S90F 65-inch if

- Your room is genuinely dark when the TV is on, so the missing polarizer never shows.

Pick the LG C6 65-inch if
- You stream services that master in Dolby Vision and want the format supported.

Verdict
Buy the LG C6 as the default; it is the reference mid-range OLED for a reason, with Dolby Vision, near-perfect off-axis uniformity, and blacks that survive a lamp being on. Buy the Samsung S90F when the room is fully dark and color richness is the thing you notice, because QD-OLED's wider gamut is real and both measure in the same brightness class. The exception is an HDR10+ household, where the S90F supports the format the C6 does not.

- Which is brighter?
- Neither by a meaningful margin. RTINGS and AVForums measured the S90F in the 1,300 to 1,500 nit class, which is the same range as the C6.
- Why do QD-OLED blacks wash out in a bright room?
- The QD-OLED panel has no polarizer, so strong room light reflects off the panel structure and lifts blacks to a purple-grey. In a dark room it is not a factor.
- Which is better for a PS5 or Series X?
- Both have four full HDMI 2.1 inputs and input lag under 10 ms. The C6 goes to 165 Hz for PC gaming; the S90F tops out at 144 Hz and adds FreeSync Premium Pro.
