Pixel pitch
The center-to-center distance between adjacent pixels on a display, which sets how close you can sit before individual pixels become visible.
Pixel pitch is the spacing between neighboring pixels, stated in millimeters. For a fixed resolution it scales with screen size: 4K on a 65 inch panel has a pitch of about 0.37 mm, while 4K on a 120 inch projection screen is about 0.69 mm.
Sit closer than the eye's resolution limit and the pixel grid shows; sit farther and you are paying for detail you cannot see.
A viewer with 20/20 vision resolves about 1 arcminute, so a pixel blends in at roughly 3,438 times its pitch. A 0.37 mm pitch disappears at about 1.3 m and a 0.69 mm pitch at about 2.4 m.
