Elite Screens Starling Tab-Tension 3 120-inch 16:9 Motorized (STT120XWH3)

A retractable screen that stays flat: side tension cables pull the CineWhite surface taut every time it drops, and the 12 V trigger and RF remote let the projector or a control system raise and lower it. It is the answer for a living room or office where the wall has to be clear when the movie ends.

Elite Screens Starling Tab-Tension 3 120-inch 16:9 Motorized (STT120XWH3)
  • 120-inch 16:9, 12-inch drop
  • CineWhite, 1.1 gain, black backed
  • Tab-tensioned electric, tubular motor
  • IR/RF remotes, 12 V trigger

Ordinary electric screens ripple within a year; tab tensioning keeps the surface flat enough for a 4K projector, which is why Projector Reviews recommended the same Elite tab-tension design. The 12 V trigger, RF and IR remotes, wall box and programmable drop stop are all in the box, so it integrates with a projector or control system without extra parts.

Watch out: Two thousand dollars buys a much better fixed frame, so only choose motorized when the wall must serve another purpose, and allow for the 12-inch top drop when setting the mounting height.

Pros

  • Flat surface from side tension cables
  • 12 V trigger plus RF and IR remotes included
  • Programmable drop position

Cons

  • Expensive for a 1.1-gain white surface
  • Case needs about 124 inches of wall width
  • Any roll-up screen can show slight edge waves
